Moving House

 

Moving house can be very stressful, so we have put together this guide to help make it a little bit easier.

Here are the things you need to let us know, with as much notice as possible.

PHONE & ADSL - If your Landline is with Locall Australis:

  • Moving the phone service can take up to 5 working days - please let us know in plenty of time
  • If you are moving within the same telephone exchange area we can move your number
  • If you are moving to a new telephone exchange area we can move your service but you will get a new phone number
  • Telephone Connection Costs are:
    • Phone has been working within the last 3 Months at the new address - $59
    • More than 3 months - it could be $59, $159 or $299
  • Once the Telephone is active we can then order the new ADSL service
  • This typically takes 3 to 5 working days
  • You can connect on whatever plan you like with the new ADSL service
  • The charge for moving the ADSL service depends on whether or not you are under contract
  • We need to know the new address

 

ADSL - If your landline is not with Locall Australis

  • You should consider terminating your current service & getting us to order you a new one to take advantage of bundled pricing
  • If you are considering this & want to keep your phone number then you need to either a) give us plenty of time to port your number across to us & then move it or b) move the phone with your existing provider & then port it across to us
  • Let us know the new address before you move
  • When the phone is active at the new location, let us know & we will order the move for the ADSL service
  • This typically takes 3 to 5 working days
  • You can connect on whatever plan you like with the new ADSL service
  • The charge for moving the ADSl service depends on whether or not you are under contract

General Information

  • Because of the time delay in getting the new ADSL service active, you can run the two connections in "parallel" for a few days - keeping the connection at the old location & the new one, until the new one is up & running - then we can terminate the old one
  • We generally try & keep the modem login details the same, so you won't need to reprogram the modem just plug it in & away you go
  • If ADSL is not available at the new location, this means that we cannot supply you with a service. This is regarded as an early termination if you are under contract. However, in most cases we can provide you with a service.
  • If you move your phone service but NOT your ADSL service, it will not continue to work at the new address. The ADSL connection needs both the working phone line AND the physical connection between modem & exchange to work

  • No changes need to be made if you move to keep these services working
